Road To Nowhere....

ever been on a road to nowhere? I went with my dear hubby to work today and we took a wrong turn, ending up on this road that was just simply BEAUTIFUL! And to be honest we ended up deep in a pasture and fenced in too! So we got to go down this road twice! Which meant two times the pics! Please excuse the dead bugs on the window, since I was with my hubby we did not stop the truck one time! LOL! Hubby said "that if we stopped every time I wanted to take a snapshot he would never get to work"! And ya know I that he is on the right track with that! Each pic has it's own BEAUTY!

my dear son loves getting a hold of my camera! He loves taking pics...says that he wants to be a photographer! Looks like I am going to be buying a camera for him very soon! Any who! Yesterday he was taking pics outside and these are some of the pics! Ever since our son was little he has just totally loves Roly Polys"!

He was able to take some really great close ups! The first pic...if ya looks really close you will see a very tiny snail! How amazing is that!

Our Drive To The Water Pump...

was so beautiful! Last night my dear husband had to take some items out to the oil rig, and our son and I went with him(perfect opt. to take pics of Kansas). After my husband got things dropped off - he had to drive to the water pump! As we came closer to the location of this water pump - clouds were coming in and the sun was just going down, getting ready to rain. Needless to to say the man (God), had painted such a beautiful Kansas sky! I decided a long time ago that Kansas is absolutely the place for sunrises and sunsets! And I am planning on making a book...all it is going to be is Kansas sunrises/sunsets! I have to been to a lot of different states/cities/towns...there is no question! Do you have any pics like this...if so please leave a comment and link, I want to see! Lately I have really been checking into to submitting some of my pics to some magazine/companies! Never know something my come out of submitting...cross my fingers! Got to start somewhere, right?

Taking the Time....
to read up on my camera! I had bought this camera in replace of one that I used for two years! I had to replace the camera that I knew...and to be honest I did not ever read the booklet that came with my camera now! I use my point and shoot camera everyday! I have been looking for s SLR camera for a while now. About a week ago I found one for sale, yes it is used, but that is just fine with me! I can't wait to get going with this SLR never really had a camera that nice before! Started reading a book " The Complete Idiot's Guide to Photography Like A Pro" So far I have read over stuff that was self taught to any camera owner! I am ready for so good stuff like working on perspective and such!

Bad, Bad, Bad.....

We I have managed to get off track a bit with posting! So as of today I will be starting again! Wish me luck! And to be honest we have been dealing with packing up more stuff, getting the stuff to the school house! My poor husband working to the bone! He was supposed to get the rig up and going on Monday...but as you can tell that will not be happening due to all the rain we have been getting!

As we were driving today I was snapping pics left and right through the window! And mind you that we were going about 75 miles an hour but check these two above out! LOL! And the clouds were just AMAZING! Have had a lot of rain here in Kansas and tornado activity popping up here and there!

One day we had micro burst go through our small little town. I guess it was recorded to have had wind up to 100 miles per hour. There was alot of damage that day to trees, houses and a semi turned over on I-70! Dear husband said it took him an hour to get to the next town only 15 minutes away!

And our dear son thinking that since it is summer, all to do is play! Well getting the last under control a bit, we finally got son to understand the faster we get moved the more he can play! Well he was just tuckered out today! Out son just simply passed out this evening in the truck! And all he did was play! As for myself with us moving and being so very busy (sigh) I am going thru some very serious withdraw! I got used to being able just go get up and go work on a LO or something! But since we moved my scrapping stuff to the school house already I just don't know what to do! Yes I have brought a crop bag full of stuff back to our other house! But with everything in such a shamble in the house it is hard to find a place to scrap. Let alone just simply not having what I want meaning tools etc to really even start working on something! All I do know is that I have been going camera crazy and when I do really get to start scrapping again....I have so many pics to work with!

I am recovering from a serious migraine! Yesterday afternoon I got a small headache, took some Advil (because it usually works)! This was at 4:50pm and it was already to late! I was so tired I went to bed earlier than usual! Woke up around 3am my eyes felt like they were going to pop out! Head pounding! And then I got sick, almost went to er! I sat in the dark with dear hubby! He was so sweet just being quite and making sure I was all right too! Laid back down and kinda went to sleep! I hate migraines....took today to take it easy! All I got done today to working on a few things like a load of laundry and I did manage to make supper for hubby and son! Thank the man upstairs for helping me thru today!

I did receive a package in the mail today! I signed up for a "PINK" Breast cancer Awareness ATC swap a wile ago. And I got them...I was so excited! And they are all so beautiful now I can't wait to show my mom (so is a survivor)! And even though I had to wait along time to get them it was so worth it! Now I am planning on signing up for a couple of more ATC swaps! See ya tomorrow!

August Crop Invitation.....

I have picked the date for this crop!
Date: August 28th 8am to 5pm (but so very welcome to stay later!)
Cost: $15.00 (to cover cost of Food/Class Suppiles)

Now I am looking at getting started in the morning, so for breakfast I will serving coffee/orange juice, bagels and fruit that morning! You will have some time to get your stuff out, and ready for the day of challenges and games throughout the day! There will be three prize drawing (1 for challenges, 1 for door prize and 1 for Bingo)!

Schedule for August 28th 2010
8am Breakfast
8 - 10am Set you scrappy stuff up at your
desk. Pick your Bingo words.
10 am Challenge 1 and 2
10:30 Bingo starts and will be called
throughout the day...this will be a
Blackout game!
11am Challenges 3 and 4
12:30pm Lunch will consist of Homemade Deli
Sandwiches, Chips and drinks.
1:30 Challenges 5 and 6
2:00 - 4:30 Time to work on challenges and your
personal layouts/projects.
4:30 All challenges will be viewed and
name will be drawn for Challenge
Prize! Last word for Bingo will be
called!
5pm Clean up for those that are just
bonkers from working with all that
paper! And for those who are
still scrapping...take a break!

I have space for 15 scrappers and a couple of your friends...if you want to bring a friend! Please note that they will be charged the fee also! The more the merrier...right! If your bring a friend - you and your friend get an extra entry on the door prize (that is well over the $50 mark)! As usual you will have access to all f my scrappbooking tools! If you have basic scrapbooking tools such as trimmer, adhesive and such. Please make sure you bring them with you!

Packing Day and some scrapbooking stuff....

I am so tired! Got a dresser cleaned out, my large jewelery box and moved that furniture and two other pieces out to the living room! So next trip to Bison we will be moving four pieces of furniture and 15 boxes! My back hurts and I have had a darn headache all day! We have lived in this house for so long - it is kinda sad in a way to see it growing bearer with each day! If any of you have moved from a home ya lived in for 10+ years, you know what I am saying!

I also was working here in there on my big August Crop! So excited....planning a big day! I am even going to serve breakfast and lunch to those who come! Lots of planning still to do, hope I have a good turn out! Had a couple of ladies from Missouri and Oklahoma that might come! That would be so very exciting to meet some of the scrappy gals that I met on Paper...Talk...Scissors!

and I am not done yet! Lordy, Lordy, Lordy I am so tired...been working on my scraproom for 5 hours! And still I am not done! Got a few more things to get in the scraproom! I just can not wait to scrap for myself...let alone havin' my August Crop! I got alot of stuff put away...but ya never know us scrapper flexibility should be in our name!

This is my ds and I, he help me out some today with the scraproom but it it summer time/no school he really wanted to just play! Anyhow he wanted to take a ma and son pic for my blog! LOL! He is such a silly head away! Then again so am I! LOL!

We Are Moving...

to a school! Yes to live in! We have been looking for a house/building for a very long time now! And we found it! Third week of April all paper work, getting bills put in our name and so on was done! I finally got to move my scrappy stuff to the new school house!

And believe me this pic is only a fourth of my stuff....I had been putting stuff away for two hours already! LOL! My dear son got the camera out and took some pics while I was working! (To be honest I really did not know that I had so much pack into 13 creates, and 4 boxes! I think I really do have a problem!)

And I finally used my webcam for the first time! This is a pic of me after working all day...figuring out where I need/want to put things! After a while putting stuff away I found so many stash goodies that I forgot that I had (I wanted to start scrapbooking)! With all of the scrappy stuff and paper kits galore! I will be having a Give A Way! Please make sure you keep watching for more info! And updates on how things are moving along!

My dear son with his Great Aunt/God Mother Susie at my Cousin Andy's wedding! The following LOs were scraplifted from Scrapbooking Trends April 2008 and April 2009

My poor son thinks this one is girly! But he did like it! Stilling needing to journal, I put alot of thought into this one!

Oh we had so much fun at the Sonic Drive In playground! Can't remember how many times I took our son down the slide that day! Very simple LO used with these pics, and used three different shots on this event!

One of the things that I have always done is to go on walks with my son. One day my son had the camera and took these great pic of our shadows! I had never thought to take pics of shadows, he is such a smarty! Any how, I made this LO interactive! It has an accordion style album for 4 pics and a place to journal!

I got this great kit called "BLISS" and I don't think I have to tell how pretty this kit is!

I got up this morning at 7am, cup of java with flavored creamer! Looked through a couple of mags that I had for some inspiration - think I am reading to go! Stayed up way to late last night working on a card.... lifted it from a Stampin' Up Idea book that I have!

I feel that I am going to have a very productive day. I've got several cards and about 10 LO planned for the day! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

MIA.....and back!

I have been MIA (Missing In Action) for a while! I have been working really hard on two major contracts for others! The first contract is to make 47 (yes 47) 8.5 x 11 wrestling LOs. And the second is an Marine album for a relative! And I attended a 5 day crop too! LOL! So there has been a lot of work and play! Took me 2 days to get all my scrappy stuff put away! Any who....here are some things that I got done at the crop!

This is a mini....don't do them very often! This is "My Little Jewelry Box"! I took pics of some of my favorite pieces of jewelry. Sized them down to 1.5 x 2 inches. Up-cycled a small cardboard jewelry box that usually comes (with a piece in it of course) from local jewelry store! And the paper kit "Penny Royalle" from Kaiser Craft!

Next up are a couple of cards that I through together! Got a baby boy on the way?

This LO is called "The Graffiti Train" softened the pics with a girly girl paper set!

This LO was based of a class I did at one of my crops! Leaves and harvest fabric and two stickers were used as embellies!

The LO above is of our son's 11th B-day! He helped pick out the embellies used! Funky huh?

This LO is dedicated to my Husband! Had a lot of fun working on this and it came out just right!

This 2 pager was also fun to work on...my son got his second bike!

Yep it's time for a new swap...Pink Ribbon ATC, I have many friends who are Breast Cancer Survivors. In honor of their fight I would like to do a pink Ribbon ATC Trade. I would like everyone to send one extra ATC which I will have mounted in a nice frame and donate to my favorite Relay for life team the Hikers for Healthy Hooters. I would also like to have permission to put your name and location (example Emma Hicks, Idaho) on the pack of the frame so they know who made the ATC's. This will be auctioned off in the Fall and the fund donated to help with breast cancer research.

was a blast! I had 'bout 10 ladies this month and was able to get three LO classes done with them! Taking a new approach to classes, thanks to Deb from Wal-Mart! I took her way of teaching scrapbooking classes and made it mine! Hummm? Wonder is this like scraplifting but instead it is instruction lifting! LOL! Any who - I make a print out for each class! Which consist of a sketch or pic of a LO, then I also include step by step insturctions! I make a LO that is following the sketch, so that my scrappy gals have an idea of what the LO looks like. At my crops I stress taking an idea and making your own. So some of the gals will follow the LO/ instructions all the way! But then I have some gals that will take the same elements and make it their own! Yesterday I sat all the items for each LO on a table of it's own! That way the gals can sit their area up and then they can come over to the class table! Took a couple of pic at the crop....

thanks to the scrappy gals that were able to attend! Looking forward to next month's crop! We will be starting a new project, will be taking a child's board book and altering it into a mini album! Sorry that I have not posted lately! I have really been busy working on LOs, projects, etc. for the Christmas Craft Fair that is coming up Dec 5th! I made four of these cute little tags for the craft fair! We have a lot of police officer in my family and living in the small town that we live in! So in thinking of my family and others I made this using three free print outs from the net! I wish that I could have got a better pic so ya can really see all the detail!

with the Christmas Craft Fair coming I have had to really buckle down! Meaning that I am have been spending from 8am till I go to sleep working in my Scrappy Place! To be honest I think that I am causing myself to get insomnia (I have even been dreaming of scrappin)! But here are some of the 2 pagers that I will be selling at the fair!

All of these LOs are done with "Chronicles" Paper line! That I had received from my biological mother when she came to visit in September!

This double LO was made for a seamstress or something! I have put 8 quilting pins in with this for a neat way that a person can attach pics!

Oh I had so much fun making this 2 pager! For the romantic traveling couple! Maybe...just maybe he (or she) will pop the question! One this LO, I had a little help from my scrappy neighbor - she gave me three necklace charms (in the bottom left corner of the left LO)!

We all have family or friends that go on trips. So I made this set for the pics and letters from your loved ones! Besides the three mats there is a hidden bouns...on the left page you can tuck the letters in behind the the solid green strip!

Kaiser Craft Penny Royale Paper Set...

Oh scrappers ya got to check this paper set that we have in the store right now! I totally fell in love with the set before even gettin' it in the mail!

And come to find out - the embellishments ( like matching rub-ons, chipborad elements etc) come in these really AWESOME storage heavy zip bags! They are great for acrylic stamp storage, now I really hope that we get the binder that these go in because they are already hole punched for a two ring binder!

Any who - this is what I have done with the kit...I made a beautiful coasters and hot pad! They took about 2 days for me to complete, due to I really let the Mod Pogde and Clear coats dry over night! I had a lot of fun making them and planning on making a few more sets - since I have the craft fair thing coming up in December!

I am planning on altering this wine box that I found at our local Thift Shop! Gosh what a find...I am planning on using it for my wooden stamp storage! I wish that I would have been able to find at least two more! Any way I have started altering it so I will be up dating this post with the results!

So glad I got this done! Makes it easy to take wooden stamps to my crops now!

Christmas Craft Fair...

is coming up on December 5th in our town! I am so excited this is the first craft fair that I am participating in! The local lumber yard built a really nice sign for my biz, all I have to do is get it painted! I have been making cards and pre made LOs to sell!

I try to make a set when I am making cards! That way someone can buy just one or a whole set! I usually ask $2.00 per card or $8.00 to $10.00 per set (depending on how many is in the set, embellishment of cards, etc.).

K- State Homecoming Game and My Son

My DS won four VIP Corporate Tickets to the K-State Homecoming Game! Thanks to my mom signing him up at the bank! Out of the state of Kansas, he won! So we loaded up in the car and headed to Manhattan Kansas. After a two and half hour drive, trying to stay warm, and 52 thousand people....I took around 187 pics!

So now I have to figure out which ones to scrap??? I have the paper and embellies already picked out. We had alot of fun at the game but then when we headed home, we stopped by HOBBY LOBBY! Ended up spending around $100 on some awesome scrappy Christmas stuff! Went out to eat at some pizza place, as I was eating I decided to head back to pick up a few more things! Oh yeah I forgot we also got to stop at Big Lots, so I got a few scrappy things there too! Now I rambling (of course about my addition), anyway here are a couple of pics from the game!

Well I have been pretty busy around the house today! Got all most all the laundry done, dishes are finished and now I get to play!!! I am going to work on the Freaky Friday Challenge at ACB. I have chosen to use some leftovers that are from "Wisteria" paper line! I have been working on some premade LOs for the Craft Fair that is coming up in our little town!
